EXPERIENCE: Forest fire protection and management, supervision, endangered species, program, and budget management.
CANDIDATE STATEMENT: “We are now increasing our reliance on renewable energy sources (wind and solar) while we reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We are preparing for a future with more electric vehicles and more efficient lighting, appliances, and electrical equipment. We are also monitoring advancements in battery storage technology that can further reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. We must be leaders in adapting to these new technologies, but we must also adhere to our core cooperative principles and values. We have placed ourselves in a position to grasp new opportunities for the future.”

CANDIDATE STATEMENT: “Electric cooperatives were instrumental in bringing electricity to the rural areas, and continue to play a vital role in the distribution of electricity. I believe strongly in the cooperative business model as it provided for active member participation in both the governance of the business, and sharing in the success of the business. I would consider it an honor and privilege to serve as a director and help keep Oakdale Cooperative a strong and integral part of the electric industry.”

CANDIDATE STATEMENT: “I feel cooperatives provide a vital link to customers in rural areas where for-profit electrical companies might be reluctant to service. Cooperatives need to make a reasonable return but the main focus is customer service and support. I have been in the Oakdale area for 22 years and I believe my experiences in business and management will be an asset to the board. I am not only a resident in District #7 but a small business owner. My family owns Redstone’s North End Tavern on Lake Redstone near La Valle. We are not only a customer of Oakdale Electric but a good community steward with donations and fundraisers throughout the year benefiting numerous causes.”
